Wow, this has to be my most productive art week EVAR I had a great response to my Dragon Huntress sketch and I was pretty inspired from it so I thought I'd color it right away!!! Yay!
I'm pretty happy this overall. I spent about 5 hours coloring it. I could have done a bit more, I think, but I was starting to get tired and impatient and was afraid I'd ruin it. There are things that could be better... I had a little battle with my watercolors in the background there and I think they won The inking/linework got messed up in a few places, but nothing too obvious... it just annoys me. I can't stand it when a line is different from in my pencil work, even if it still looks good. I dunno... I am so particular about lines. I really need to get better at inking
So anyway, enough ranting from me... I hope you enjoy the picture!
I know how you feel about losing your lines when inking. It drives me absolutely insane, which is why I almost always do inked work as a copy of the original. Even though that doesn't help the final product, it makes me feel better to have a safety net sometimes.
In this case, I think you did a good job with the inks! Really like how it came out once colored, very nice work!

*nods* It's good to know I'm not alone on this ^^ I make copies of my original too. I ink onto bristol by using a lightbox. The lighter lines are a little difficult to see through cardstock and bristol, I think that's part of the reason I mess up, but I just cannot bear to ink my originals!!! They are much to messy anyway
*Jumps around in pleasure* That pic is sooo awesome ^^, I so like it, its very well colored, I adore your skills with color pencils, your pics are very amazing ^^
Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it.
Each day we will feature 10 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
When it comes to community spirit, `Rushy is a shining example. From participating in devmeets, to providing positive encouragement to other artists, `Rushy can always be found demonstrating what it really takes to be a true deviant. It's without any hesitation that we are delighted to award the Deviousness Award for July 2009 to `RushyRead More
